Second day in Shanghai...
It's modern and smoggy... The pollution is unbelievable!!!
A perfect example... I took out my DSLR Camera and the Filter on the lens fogged up!!!
Also in my own opinion it's look and feel is like any other city in North America with an Asian flair though there are alot of people that don't speak English, there is way more here than Bejing and Xi'an english speakers but still they are rare...
Some people ignore us, others laugh at us when we ask for assistance in English on the streets but there are a couple of people that give us hand signals and directions which is better than nothing...
Again some people are really helpful and I remember them all... Yesterday someone went out of thier way and walked 4 blocks to guide us to the Subway... We conversed along the way there and it seemed that she wanted to stop and talk when we got to the Subway Station... I would had given her my e-mail address but we were in a rush... The help was really appreciated as always we did our introductions and byes and went our way...
BTW... Asian Women are more helpful than Asian Men... :)
Again the Smog is incredible here... It's bad... What's worse is the humidity... It was 34 degrees yesterday but with the humidity it's about 40 degrees... It's like literally being in a suana yet worse because of the sun beating down on you and the pollution making breathing more difficult...
The computer in the Hostel does not have the drivers for my Camera but I will put up a picture when possible...
The Asian women here have the North American but more European look...
Asians here love and anything European and High End... Armani, Dolce & Gabanna, Versace, etc... It's crazy!!!
Adidas, Kappa, Puma, Nike, Asics and every sports name brand you can think of can be found here... Even dozens more that I never heard of or saw as well as Brands that did not do well in North America that shut down can be found here!!!
It's all about shopping here with with hugh malls from floor level all the way up to 8 levels selling any name mid to high name brand you can think of and more!
I'll leave this entry at that... Will be moving onto another place tomorrow...
